Chapter Eleven

(Cherish)

I felt horrible. I didn't mean to make him feel bad, but when he kissed my thigh I couldn't help but think of Caesar, and the thought of him creeped me out and scared me. I wished I could tell him about everything I’d been through, but I refused to let him feel any more sympathy than he already did. Waking up with him by my side felt like heaven. If this was a dream I never wanted to wake up.

“What’s up lil mama?” he said, wrapping his arm around my waist.

“Good morning. Look, about last night….” I tried to explain.

“You ain't gotta explain anything. I'm feeling you, and when you're ready it will happen. A nigga ain't tryna rush shit,” he said and gave me the smile I loved so much.

“Okay. Well, I gotta get ready for school,” I said and got out of bed. When I was dressed and ready I waited for Mega to drop me off.

“What you doing? Damn, you taking longer than I did!” I shouted into the bathroom door.

“You can always drive ya self,” he said opening the bathroom door shirtless.

“I can't drive,” I said with a smile.

“You a smart girl, it ain't that hard,” he said and tossed me his keys.

When he was dressed we left the apartment. I hopped into the driver's side of his car nervous as hell. He didn’t do a good job teaching me. All he did was scream at me.

“I wish you shut the fuck up with all that screaming!” I snapped.

“You better watch ya mutha fucking mouth and watch the road!” he snapped with a smirk.

“Whatever nigga!” I said pulling the car over.

“We almost at school. Why you pull over?”

“I can't drive in these kinds of conditions!” I said with an attitude. I hopped out of the car and waited for him to get out so we could switch spots.

“Oh, I see ya punk ass a quitter.”

“Quitter? Nigga where?” I snapped. I said fuck it and got back into the driver’s seat. I turned on the radio hoping I could tune him and his annoying ass voice out.

“You supposed to be focused. No radio!” he said turning it off.

“Oh my God!Mega, leave me the fuck alone and let me do me!” I snapped and turned the radio back on.

“A’ight, you smash my shit up and that's ya ass!” he said mad as hell.

“Whatever,” I muttered. My song came on the radio so I turned it up.

“When I need motivation, my one solution is my queen ‘cause she stay strong yeah, yeah!”

“Yo, that song annoying as shit. Shut up!” Mega yelled.

“Ohhhh, I think that I found myself a cheerleader, she is always right there when I need her!” I sung loud as hell.

“Yo, I'm ‘bout to put you out my shit!” he snapped turning the radio off.

“Nigga you ain't driving. I’ll put you out, and I know the words by heart anyways,” I said, sticking my tongue out at him.

“She walks like her mother, she grants my wishes like a genie in a bottle yeah yeah!” I belted out as we pulled up to school.
